Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Christian Languages (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, which we use for passwordless sign-in. We do not ask for or store passwords.
- Learning data. Your progress through lessons, streaks, Drops, review history, and the reflections you choose to write.
- Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We retain only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference.
- Technical data. Basic log and device information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
How we use your information
- To provide the lessons, track your progress, and personalize your path.
- To process your subscription and manage billing.
- To send you sign-in codes and important account or service messages.
- To maintain security and improve how the app works.
Your reflections are private
The reflections you write at the end of a lesson are private and visible only to you. We will never publish a reflection unless you explicitly choose to share it, and any reflection you choose to share is anonymized first.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf so the service can run:
- Supabase - database and authentication.
- Stripe - subscription payments.
- Vercel - website and app hosting.
- Resend - delivering sign-in codes and notices.
- PostHog - privacy-conscious product analytics that helps us understand how the app is used (no session recording; we do not capture your reflections or the content you type).
These providers are bound to use your information only to provide their services to us. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use an essential cookie to keep you signed in, and privacy-conscious analytics (PostHog) that use cookies to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. We do not use advertising cookies.
Data retention and your choices
We keep your information while your account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, including your reflections, at any time by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our systems, subject to any records we must keep by law.
Children
Individual accounts on Christian Languages are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child who signs up on their own, and if we learn that we have, we delete it.
Students learn with us only through a school, homeschool co-op, or ministry that has licensed the product and agreed in writing to the terms below.
Students at a licensed school
When a school licenses Christian Languages for its students, the school provides consent on behalf of parents for educational use, as the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act permits it to do, and we act as a school official with a legitimate educational interest under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. We handle student information only as the school directs.
What that means in practice:
- A student account holds a name, a sign-in username, and their learning progress. Students are not required to give us an email address, and most school accounts have none.
- We never show advertising to students, and we never sell, rent, or share student information with anyone.
- Session recording is switched off for every school and co-op account. We do not record a student’s screen.
- Reflections stay private.A student’s written reflection is never shown to their teacher, their school, or anyone else, and it is never scored. A teacher can see that a reflection was written, never what it says.
- Teachers see completion, accuracy, streaks, and last activity for their own class only.
- A school may ask us to export or delete its students’ information at any time, and we will do it. If a licence ends, students keep their own accounts and everything they have learned; the school simply loses access to them.
Parents at a licensed school may ask to review or delete their child’s information by contacting their school, or us directly at the address below.
